Re-imagining our relationship to the city of Cape Town, this street photography project aimed to create a counter-narrative to the tourism images that frequently narrate this divided space.
@therealcityofcapetown is an archive that documents everyday life in Cape Town.
Our photography collective was active from 2015 - 2020. In addition to an online instagram gallery, we had exhibitions, produced a zine and held a street photography course with high school kids in Imizamo Yethu and Hangberg.
